About NATA

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by the Council of Architecture, being the competent & final authority for the purpose of fixing norms and standards for architectural institutions and having the necessary expertise to hold a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to First year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over country.

What is NATA?

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.


NATA 2017

National Aptitude Test in Architecture, 2017 (NATA-2017) for admission into 1st year of 5-year B.Arch. Degree course at various Institutions in India for the academic session 2017-2018 will be conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA) as one-day examination (paper based, OFFLINE) all over the country on 16.04.2017 (Sunday).



Qualifying Marks for NATA 2017

1. At least 25% must be secured in MCQ Portion (30 out of 120)
2. At least 25% must be secured in Drawing Test (20 out of 80)
3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.
4. Candidate will not qualify in NATA 2017 unless all the above 3 conditions are satisfied.

Basic Eligibility for NATA 2017

• The lower age limit of the Candidate is 17 years as on 31-07-2017.
• 10+2 or equivalent passed/appearing with Mathematics as one of the subjects of examinations.
• The aspirant should be physically and mentally fit at the time of exam.
• 10+3 Diploma (any stream) passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
• International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

Eligibility for B. Arch Admission

o Qualified NATA 2017 or NATA 2016 AND
o 50% aggregate marks in 10+2/10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as one of the subjects OR International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
o No direct lateral admission is allowed at any year/stage of B.Arch course based on any qualification.

Application Procedure

Application has to be filled up ONLINE in three steps; PERSONAL DETAILS (On completion and submission of this system will generate a unique 7-digit Application Number), DOCUMENT UPLOADING (Recent passport size color photo, Left Thumb Impression, Signature) & FEE PAYMENT (Rs. 1250/- plus service charges) at the NATA portal http://www.nata.nic.in and take a printout of CONFIRMATION PAGE generated upon successful fee payment.
