Australian housing firm Modscape has revealed a concept for a Cliff House that would hanging over an actual cliff and would cling onto the side of a vertical rockface. The project would involve creating a stack of five modules that are each anchored to the cliff using engineered steel pins. The roof of the house would sit in level with the ground allowing the entrance to the house to be only possible by lowering residents down into a concealed garage on the top floor. This staircase would descend through the center of the building and on either side of this structure would be the residence.
“The home is visualised as a natural extension of the cliff face rather than an addition to the landscape, creating an absolute connection with the ocean” said the designers.
