Southwark-based Architecture studio Craftworks has re-imagined a chapel in south London by merely including A simple pitched roof with triangular skylights and a lower ground floor. The project was the winner of the '2019 Don't Move, Improve' award. The home, named The Chapel, now has a subtle hint of the dramatic structure with the inclusion of the room into an already modern gothic vault reminiscent of the German churches of old. They have now transformed the venue to a home complete with four bedrooms; bathrooms and a study sit on the new lower ground floor, not to mention an open-plan dining and kitchen area, flooded with light from the skylights and a series of thin arched windows. A fireplace has been inserted as though it were an altar inside.
